A strong Reception Committee, with Prof. Nagen Saikia, an ex president to the Sabha as the chief Advisor, Sri Tonkeswar Bora, a leading citizen of Dibrugarh as the President, Sri B.K.Konwar and Sri L.Bora as joint secretaries,  Mr. Deviprasad Bagrodia as treasurer, and almost all the leading people of all walks of life, office-bearers and members, is at work. Sri P.K. Mahanta, Honourable Chief Minister of Assam, has kindly consented to be the Chief Patron, and Sri B.K.Pegu, District Magistrate as the Patron Executive.

  Reception Committee is trying it best to have the company of a Nobel Laureate in Literature as the Chief Guest. A renowned Indologist Dr W.L.Smith of the University of Stockholm, Sweden, has kindly consented to be the guest on Honour of the session.It may  be noted that the President of India inaugurated the session in 1976, and the Vice President of India in 1997.  In the last session, one representative of the UK chapter of Asam Sahitya Sabha, attended the session. It is expected some representatives of the UK chapter and the USA chapter of the Sabha would participate in this coming session.   Asam Sahitya Sabha has its branches in Delhi, Calcutta, Kohima, Itanagar & Shillong also. It is expected that delegates from these branches would attend the coming Dibrugarh Session.

Also the reception committee  has processed for publication  of one SOUVENIR of 500 pages & 8  books on different topics.

   The Reception Committee has proposed the theme "Unity in Diversity" for the session and the central committee of the Sabha has approved it. The representatives of a number of ethnic and linguistic communities are expected to participate in a session, named the 'Session of Integration'. Representative writers of all the languages of Northeast and East India are expected to attend the conference. Besides the president elect, who would preside over the open sessions, the outgoing president Sri C.P.Saikia and eleven living ex-presidents, a galaxy of eminent writers would grace the session .The reception committee through it's  26 sub committees has been trying  it's best  to make all arrangements convenient and suitable for all visitors during the session .
