This time in February 2001 the biennial conference of Sahitya Sabha is going to be held at DIBRUGARH, a city in the easternmost part of the state, located on the bank of the river Brahmaputra. Assam is known to the world for its tea production. The district of DIBRUGARH contributes a very big way in production of tea too.
The annual conference of Asam Sahitya Sabha is graced by some great Indian writers as invited guests of honour . It would be a great pleasure and a matter of pride for the Sabha if the Sabha could get the privilege of receiving a great writer of the stature of a Nobel laureate as its Chief guest in the biennial conference.
Assam is rich not only in her literary and cultural heritage, she is also rich in her natural resources and natural beauty. Both Asam Sahitya Sabha & Assam looks forward very eagerly to receive you.
